Whether you have something to celebrate, or just feel in the mood for an extra-special meal out – we are so lucky here in Suffolk to have a wide array of fine dining restaurants for you to choose from during your stay. Be advised – booking ahead is advised for all of these locations.
The Turks Head
Low Road, Hasketon, Suffolk, IP13 6JG
A wonderful Gastropub & Restaurant for when in the mood for a selection of varied, high-quality dishes, made with the finest local ingredients. The Blythburgh Pork Belly is always a treat, and if you’re lucky enough to visit when Chef is preparing his fabulous Thali, you will not be disappointed. There’s also a beautiful outside space for children to play. Fine dining in the Suffolk countryside at its best.

The Eaterie – The Salthouse Harbour Hotel
Neptune Quay, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP4 1AX
Although based within the hotel, the Salthouse Eaterie is open to guests who are not staying. It’s a beautiful location, right in the heart of the Ipswich waterfront. The beauty of the location is matched in the food; Head Chef Luke Bailey was winner of the Suffolk Chef of the Year 2019. The menu, as expected, does change to suit season & produce, however the quality is never compromised. Glazed duck leg, Wakame seaweed, daikon & soba noodles, and seared king scallops should give you an idea of the range, and uniqueness that The Eaterie has to offer.

Maison Bleue
30/31 Churchgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP33 1RG
Not only one of the best in Suffolk, Maison Bleue has been hailed as one of the best 10 fine dining restaurants in the UK by the Trip Advisor 2020 Traveller’s Choice Restaurant Award for the fifth year running. They describe themselves as ‘French-modern fine dining’, but also incorporate local produce as much as possible into their menu; Blythburgh pork, Sutton Hoo chicken & Norfolk quail. Bury St Edmunds is around a 30 minute drive from the farm but its definitely worth a visit.

The Unruly Pig
Orford Road, Bromeswell, Nr Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP12 2PU
It seems The Unruly Pig is going from strength to strength each and every year since opening – it currently sits with the most recent regard being number 10 spot on the Estrella Damm UK Top 50 Gastropubs 2021 list. The menu is pretty special as you can imagine, but not intimidating – even the fussiest of people couldn’t deny The Unruly Burger. Orford half lobster tail, guinea fowl, Cornish monkfish and Chateaubriand are some of the mouthwatering options gracing the menu at the moment. If you’re in the mood for a real treat, book in for the “Be Unruly” seven course meal for a truly decedent experience.

The Marquis
Upper Street, Layham, Suffolk, IP7 5JZ
The Marquis is located amongst the hills of the Brett Valley – if you’re visiting before darkness sets in, you will get to enjoy panoramic views across the valley thanks to the floor to ceiling windows. The menu is fresh, modern and interesting, and actually, for fine-dining, has a huge offering making it so difficult to pick! Will it be Cornish crab tacos, Dorset snails and baked avocado to start? Followed by Alaska king crab claw, fillet of beef wellington, or, how about a 40oz Hereford beef tomahawk to share.. That’s not even a quarter of the choice! Amazing. The after-dinner cocktails are also too good to be missed.
